Dear Mr. Waldron:
In accordance with the understandings which were reflected in Secretary Udall's letter of March 20, 1964 to Chairman Seaborg, I am forwarding, under separate cover, Volumes 1, 2 and 3 of the Preliminary Safety Analysis Report and Application Amendment No.1 dated July 21, 1967, filed by Metropolitan Edison Company for the proposed construction and operation of a pressurized water nuclear reactor an its Three Mile Island site, an island in the Susquehanna kaver in Londonderry Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, approx-instely ten miles southeast of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
The pro-posed reactor is designed for initial operation at 2452 megawatts (thermal).
We would sppreciata receiving the results of a review by the Engineering Geology Branch of those geological features of the proposed location for the proposed reactor which may have a bearing upon our evaluation of the suitability of the proposed site.
