Newmark Consulting Engineering Services is hereby requested, pursuant to the conditions of Contract No. AT(49-5)2667, to provide the following services for the Commission concerning the proposed construction of the Three Mile Island Nuclear Station, Unit 1 at Metropolitan Edison Company's Three Mile Island site, an island in the Susquehanna River, in Londonderry Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, approx nately ten miles southeast of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania:

1.

Analyses of the engineering factors included in the proposed design to =ia4=4se damage from seismically-induced ground motions.

2.

Preparation of a report on (1) above.

3.

Serving as an expert witness in the public hearing on this facility.

The==rinn= amount payable to your firm on this project is $3,000.

Enclosed for your review are Volumes 1, 2 and 3 of the Metropolitan Edison Company Preliminary Safety Analysis Report.

On the basis of our tentative schedule for this project, it would be desir-able to have your report av=11=hla for our use by September 15, 1967. By August 15, 1967 we would hope to be able to discuss with you the results of your pre 14= inn y evaluation.
