Dear Mr. Pack:
A copy of Voltanes 1, 2, and 3 of the Preliminary Safety Analysis Report filed by Metropolitan Edison Company for the proposed con-struction and operation of a pressurized water nuclear reactor are enclosed for your review. The proposed facility is to be located at the Company's Three Mile Island site, an island in the Susquah==am River in Londonderry Township, Dauphfa County, Pennsylvania, apprar4==tely ten miles southeast of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The proposed reactor is designed for initial operation at 2452 megawatts (thermal).
We would appreciate receiving a report from the Air Resources Laboratory, ESSA, on the meteorological aspects of the proposed reactor laae*4an which might have a bearing upon our safety review.
On the basis of our tentative schedule for this project, it would be desirable to have your report availmhle for our use by August 15, 1967.
