Reactor Safety REVIEW STATUS: Complete Attached is the Reactor Safety Branch's safety evaluation report for extending the approval of Cycle 4 of THI-1 from 130 EFPD to 280 EFPD. Our review addressed the nuclear, themal-hydraulic and fuel system characteristics together with the abnomal transient and postulated accident consequences for a Cycle 4 maximum energy output of 280 EFPS. We have detemined that the safety nargins for this cycle length are adequate with respect to current NRC regulations and standards and that Cycle 4 operation, basdd on the propoced Technical Spedification changes is acceptable.
