Mr. George Lear, Chief

[

ph Operating Peactors Branch #3 Directorate of Licensing U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Cecmissien Washingten, D. C.

20555

Dear Mr. Lear:

Three Mile Island Nuclear Station, Unit 1 (TMI-1)

Docket No. 50-289 Operating License No. DPn-50 As a follow-up to our letter cf May 2, 1975, anc. in response to your letter of April 11,1975--regarding three remaining areas of disagree-ment between what you would like to see in the air treatment related sections of our TMI-l Technical Specifications, and our position on the subject areas--please be advised that 1.

ve have again reviewed your intended requirements and our previously stated position on the three subject areas, 2.

we still do not understand the bases frcm which you have concluded that the subject Technical Specificatien changes need to be made, 3.

although we have verbally ec==rnicated cur concerns over the phone with me=bers of your staff, apparently we have not adequately con =unicated these concerns, and h.

in light of the previvus discussion, it is recommended that members of both of our staffs meet to further discuss the issues in question.

In pursuance of Item h above, I have asked members of my staff to contact Mr. Jaffe to arrange such a meeting.

It is my feeling that this issue can thus be most expediticusly resolved to cur mutual satisfaction.

Sincerely, R. C. Arnold Vice President r

/ y h.
