Attach =ent Refueling Information 1.
Three Mile Island Nuclear Station Unit 1 ( NI-1)
Docket No. 50-2S9 Cperating License No. OPR-50 2.
The scheduled date for the next refueling shutdown is March 13, 1978.
3.
The scheduled date for restart follcwing refueling is April 29, 1976.
k.
Resumption of cperation folleving refueling vill require technical specificatica changes, however, no major fuel design or core configura-tion change is planned. The folleving changes are planned:
a.
The cycle k Technical Specificaticna vill be based en cycle lengths of k67, 256, 270, and 277 EFFD in cycles 1, 2, 3 and h, respectively.
The Technical Specificaticas for cycle h will allev operation to 277 j; 15 EFPD in cycle h folleving a cycle 3 of 270 j; 10 FEFD.
b.
TMI-l vill be changed frc= a redded to a feed-bleed =cde of operaticn for cycle k.
This change is not regarded as a major change in the operating mode because TMI-1 was operated in essentially a reds cut configuration during the latter part of previcus cycles.
Imbalance limits, centrol red position limits and APSR position limits vill be utiliced to control power peaking and linear heat rates. A power level cutoff of 90% full pcver or greater vill be used to centrol power peaking due to transient xenen effects.
c.
The quadrant tilt limit will be changed fr0= a maxi =um actual core tilt of 3.1k% to a maxi =u= actual core tilt limit of h.925, A maxi-mu= actual core tilt limit of h.92% vas used in cycles 1 and 2, whereas,
cycle 3 used a maxi =wn actual core tilt li=it of 3.1h5. The larger tilt limit for cycle h is due to the larger anticipated cperating vindows for feed-bleed operation.
5.
Proposed technical specification changes, supporting infor=ation and other necessary infor=ation vill be submitted by the end of January 1978.
6.
No important licensing consideratiens are anticipated since no major new fuel design, core configuration, supplier or performance analysis =etheds are planned.
