BEFORE THE UNITED STATES ATOMIC ENERGY COEiISSION AMENDMENT NO. 3 TO APPLICATION BY METROFOLITAN EDISON COMPANY FOR A SECTION 10hb CONSTRUCTION PERMIT AND LICENSE FOR A UTILIZATION FACILITY DOCKET NO. 50-289 Metropolitan Edison Ccmpany, a corporation organized under the laws of the State of Pennsylvania, applicant for an operating license and construction permit for the Three Mile Island Nuclear Station Unit 1, hereby amends its application in response to questions contained in the letter dated Septem-ber 21, 1967, from Dr. Peter A. Morris, Director, Division of Reactor Licensing, to the Applicant. Also mmended, due to recent design develop-ments, are the answers to question 5.8 in the letter dated August 25, 1967, from Dr. Peter A. Morris, Director, Division of Reactor Licensing, to the Applicant; and various sectionc of the application dealing with containment design, in particular the uta of ungrouted tendons for post-tensioning the concrete structure.

This mnendment to the application contains no restricted data or other defense information.
