Amendment No. 10 Attached are three signed originals and nineteen conformed copies of Amen nent No.10 to the Construction Permit Application for the Three Mile Island Nuclear Station Unit 1.
This amendment provides further detailed information regarding the capability of the Three Mile Island ;iuclear Station to withstand postulated aircraft strikes. The detailed information which pertains to fire protection, aircraft loading, structural effects, and the probability of small airc:' aft strikes was discussed with your staff on March 20, 1968.
There are enclosed one signed and twenty conformed copies of Certificates of Service of Amendment No. 10 to the chief executives of the township and county in which the facility is to be located.

BEFORE THE UNITED STATES ATOMIC ENERGY COMMISSION AMENDMENT NO. 10 APPLICATION BY METROPOLITAN EDISON COMPANY FOR A SECTION 104b CONSTRUCTION PERMIT AND LICENSE FOR A UTILIZATION FACILITY DOCKEI NO. 50-289 Regulatory Su: 01 Fife Cy.
Metropolitan Edison Company, a corporation organized under the laws of the State of Pennsylvania, applicant for an operating license and construction permit for the Three Mile Island Nuclear Station Unit 1, hereby amends its application to supply further detailed information regarding the capability of the Three Mile Island Nuclear Station to withstand the unlikely event of an airplane strike resulting from an arrival to, or departure from, the nearby Olmsted State Airport. This information is provided as a modification to Supplement 5 of the Preliminary Safety Analysis Report.
IN WITNESS whereof the applicant has caused its name to be hereunto signed by R. E. Neidig, Vice Prerident, and its corporate seal to be hereunto affixed by R. E. Sypher, Secretary, thereunto duly authorized this 27th day of March, 1968.
