Three Mile Island Nuclear Station Unit No. 1 Docket No. 50-289 Construction Permit CPPR-40
Dear Dr. Morris:
This is to advise you that the Control Rod Drive Mechanisms to be used in the Three Mile Island Nuclear Station Unit No.1 will be hermetically sealed, synchronous motor-driver roller nut units. The roller nut drive mechanisms will be as described in Docket No. 50-320, in Amendment No. 4 to the Application for Reactor Construction Permit and Operating License for the Oyster Creek Unit No. 2 filed by Jersey Central Power and Light Company, and dated October 30, 1968.
Metropolitan Edison does not hereby seek AEC review or approval,at this time, cf the new Control Rod Drive Mechanisms.
We will follow with interest the AEC review of the roller nut control rod rechanisms in the Oyster Creek Unit No. 2 proceeding.
