Three Mile Island Unit 1 (31I-1)
Operating Licence No. DPR-50 Environmental Technical Specification Section 2.2.1, Appendix B of the Environmental Technical Specification (Tech.
Specs.) for DII-1 addresses Conditions for Operation-Chlorine. More specifically, the Monitoring Requirements of this section require that the plant operating staff cr their agents determine the adequacy of the one (1) ppm limit in the cooling tever blcvdcvn to assure the limit of 0.01 ppt is not exceeded in the discharge to the river.
Within two (2) years of the star of operation of the plant, Met-Ed was to have provided your office with either,
- 1) a request for approval for a new limit en ch1crine, or
- 2) etidence of the adequacy of the ene (1) ppm light in ecoling tcver blevdown.
Please be inforned that a study has been perfer ed and, as a result, the

established. A copy of this study which is presently undergoing final review by our staff, vill be submitted to your office by October 30, 1976.
