Operating License No. DPR-50 Docket No. 50-289 Event Report '5-15/3L The purpose of this event report is to inform you of a situation which =ay cr may not prove to require reporting in accordance with TMI-1 Technical Specification 6.9.2.3.(1). Further, please note that we anticipate being able to supply a complete report regarding this situation by May 15, 1976.

Descrittien of Event It was recently discovered that no docu=entaticn supporting the seismic qualification of valves IC-V2, IC-V3, IC-Vh and IC '/6 in the intermediate cooling system could be found. Since these valves provide containment penetration isolation, we believe that the intent of the TMI-1 FSAR requires the= to be Seismic Categcry 1.

Designation of Antarent Cause of Event

• he apparent cause is still under investigation and vill be reported in more detail in the above-referenced follow-up report.

Corrective Action Efforts are still in progress to determine whether or net the subject valves are seismically qualified. The results of these efforts and any other pertinent related efforts vill be repr+ed in more detail in the follow-up report.
