OE07 b'I!hrlN9 Federal Register Notice NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON REACTOR SAFEGUARDS SUBCOMMITTEE ON RELIABILITY AND PROBABILISTIC ASSESSMENT Notice of Meeting The ACRS Subcommittee on Reliability and Probabilistic Assessment will hold an open meeting on September 11 and 12,1979, in the Century IV R;om, Quality Inn, Airport, 5249 West Century Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90045 to.11scuss the concept of establishing quantitative safety goals for nuclear power reactors, the develop-ment of a status report concerning nuclear power plant component failure rates, and ; review of the NRC Probabilistic Analysis Staff's research program to develop information for the ACRS Annual Report to Congress on the NRC Safety Research Program. Notice 'of this meeting was published August 23, 1979.

In accordance with the procedures outlined in the Federal Register on October 4,1978, (43 FR 45926), oral or written statements nay be presented by members of the public, recordings will be permitted only during those portions of the meeting when a transcript is being kept, and questicas may be asked only by members of the Subcommittee, its consultants, and Staff.

Persons desiring to make oral statements should notify the Designated Federal Employee as far in advance as practicable so that appropriate arrangements can be made to allow the necessary time during the meeting for such statements.

The agenda for subject meeting shall be as follows:

Tuesday, September 11 ai.d Wednesday, September 12, 1979 238 8:30 a.m. until the conclusion of business each day.

The Subcommittee may meet in Executive Session, with any of its consultants who may be present, to explore and exchange their prelimi-nary opinions regarding matters which should be considered during the meeting and to fo-late a report and recommendations to the full Com-mittee.

. At the conclusion of the Executive Session, the Subcommittee will hear presentations by and hold discussions with representatives of the NRC Staff, and their consultants, pertinent to this review.

The Subcom-mittee may then caucus to determine whether the matters identified in the initial session have been adequately covered and whether the project is ready for review by the full Committee.

Further information regarding topics to be discussed, whether the meeting has been cancelled or rescheduled, the Chairman's ruling on requests for the opportunity to present oral statements and the time allotted therefor can be obtained by a prepaid telephone call to the Designated Federal Employee for this meeting, Mr. Richard K.
