s NRC' EMERGENCY PLA'!NING TASK FORCE TEAM WILL VISIT THE NORTH ANNA NUCLEAR

. PLANT NEAR RICHMOND, VIPGINIA AND HOLD MEETINGS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC A team of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission Emergencf Plaaning Task Force, which will visit every operating nuclear reactor site in the ccunty to evaluate upgrading of the site's emergency planning since the Three Mile Island accident, will visit the North Anna station near Richmond, Virginia on October 15-18, 1979.

After visiting the site on October 15th, the Task Force Team will begin a Technical Review meeting with officials of the Virginia Electric Power Company at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesdau. October 16th at the fiorth Anna Visitors Center.

The meeting, which is open to observation by the public, will recess at 5:00 p.m.

and resume at 8:00 a.m. each day. The meetings will conclude about noon on October 18, 1979.

From 8:00 to 9:00 p.m., October 17th there will be a session held to receive public comments only on the subject of emergency planning.

The public session will be held at the Mineral Vol. Fire Station, Mineral, Va.

Should time not permit all comments to be heard they may be submitted in writing to Mr. James R. Miller, Acting Assistant Director for Site and Safeguards, Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Washington, D.C.

On the NRC Task Force Team are Frank Pagano, Jr., Director of the Task Force; and Jack Roe, team member from hsC Headquarters; Dale Andrews, NRC Region II; and Harold Gaut, NRC Office of State Programs in Washington.

There are six teams on the Task Force, and they began visiting sites the week of September 17. Visits to the nation's 70 licensed operating nuclear power plants are expected to be completed by mid-1980.
