Three Mile Island Nuclear Station, Unit 1 (TMI-1)
Operating License No. DPR-50 Docket No. 50-289 I&E Bulletins79-01A and 79-03 This letter is a follow-up to an August 31, 1979 telecon between your Mr. D. L. Caphton and our Mr. W. S. Stanley. The purpose of this letter is to inform you of the status of our progress on the subject bulletins and our schedule for submitting the responses.
I&E Bulletin 79-01A It has been determined that there are a number of ASCO solenoid valves in use in engineered screguards sy' stems at TMI-1, none of which are installed inside containment. Our response to this bulletin vill be submitted by September 21, 1979 I&E Bulletin 79-03 A search of TMI-1 procurement documents is ongoing, with one 18,298-page purchase order remaining. The results of the search so far indicate that no Youngstown Welding & Engineering (W&E) welded-seam pipe was purchased for TMI-1.
Our response to the bulletin vill be submitted by October 5, 1979 We vill address the schedule for the volumetric examination of the longitudinal velds of YW&E pipe, if any, in our October 5,1979 submittal.
