Docket No. 71-0248 In accordance with the quality assurance requirements established in 10CFR71 for Type B shipping packages, and the NRC letter of 5 June 1979, to us requesting modifications to our original submittal, enclosed are seven (7) copies of the Engineered Products Department, Monsanto Research Corporation, Quality Assurance Manual NPD-STD-001 Rev 3.
The referenced manual has been totally revised based on the suggestions of the June 5 NRC letter and subsequent telephone discussions.
In order to consolidate the total EPD quality assurance program in light of the size of the organization and type of activities performed at this location by EPD, one QA manual has been written to cover 10CFR71, Appendix E,10CFR50, Appendix B and other QA/QC criteria appropriate to the EPD organization, products and services. Consequently, specific references to 10CFR71, Appendix E and other details suggested in the 5 June letter are not included per se in the EPD QA manual. However, the quality assurance program describ-ed by our manual and to be implemented by EPD shall meet the requirements of 10CFR71, Appendix E.
This submittal supercedes that made on December 27, 1978.
Please destroy all seven (7) copies of EPD-S'D-003 Rev 0 sent to you at that time.
