Dear Mr. Vassallo:

South Texas Project Units I & II Docket Nos. STN 50-498, 50-499 Secondary Water Chemistry Control This letter is submitted in response to an NRC letter discussing secondary water chemistry control (0.D. Parr to E. A. Turner, August 2, 1979).

In accordance with the NRC request, the Technical Specifications on Secondary Water Chemistry will be deleted and a secondary water chemistry monitoring program containing appropriate procedures and administrative controls will be implemented.

These procedures will be available for NRC review on a schedule consistent with other South Texas Project operating and administrative procedures.
