PROVISIONAL OPERATING LICENSE NO. DPR-45 POTENTIAL UNREVIEWED SAFETY QUESTION ON INTERACTION BETWEEN NON-SAFETY GRADE SYSTEMS AND SAFETY GRADE SYSTEMS

Gentlemen:
In accordance with the request contained in Reference (1), a written statement concerning our review of systems from the stand-point of performance of non-safety grade equipment subjected to an adverse environment impacting the protective functions performed by safety grade equipment follows.
The following components or systems are not installed at LACBWR:
1)
Steam generator power operated relief valve control system 2)
Pressurizer power operated relief valve control system.
NOTE:
LACBWR does not have any power operated relief valves.
3)
Automatic rod control system.
1130 131 A malfunction of the main feedwater control system would not cause any consequences more limiting than presented in the SAR.
