" Pressure Transmitter Lift-Off Voltage"

Dear Mr. Seyfrit:

The subject deficiency describes a lif toff-voltage problem for Rosemount 1153A transmitters. The device will not start up for certain combinations of g .: supply voltage, zero suppression, ambient temperature, etc.

In Waterford SES Unit No. 3 applications, the voltage provided to the current loop of the transmitter is 40 volts dc. Since the liftoff-voltage problem does not occur if the power supply voltage exceeds 30 volts, we do not believe that this failure is a reportable deficiency under 10CFR50.55e.
