" AUDIBILITY PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED ON EVACUATION OF PERSONNEL FROM HIGH-NOISE AREAS" A survey was completed on August 21, 1979, to determine whether current alarm systems and evacuation announcement systems were clearly audible and/or visible throughout all plant areas with emphasis on high, noise areas.
Measurements in high-noise areas were conducted with maximum anticipated ambient noise levels.
Results of the survey indicated certain plant areas where the plant public address system and/or evacuation alarm syst<< were not clearly audible because of the high ambient noise levels.
The survey results are currently being evaluated within TVA in order to define necessary improvements. When the evaluation has been completed, we will inform you of our planned actions.
