  • I 'g Re: Allens Creek Nuclear Generating Station, Docket No. 50-466

Dear Chairman Wolfe:

I would like to request that the licensing board hold all future public hearings in the above matter in Richmond or Rosenberg, Texas. These cities are approximately 20 to 25 miles from the proposed site. They have a combined population of at least 15-20,000 persons, and are the largest distinct population center within a 50 mile radius of the plant after Houston and Be.llaire. At least 9 persons from these cities are seeking to intervene in the licensing process.

Aside from our interest in ACNGS, Richmond-Rosenberg offers a convenient and fair location for future meetings. The cities are approximately midway between Houston and Wallis and points to the north and south from which persons are seeking to inter-vene. There is a Holiday Inn located on the Southwest Freeway approximately 5 miles outside o.f the central business districts.

The Holiday Inn has meeting rooms available on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. I believe they have 2 rooms, each of which would hold approximately 100 to 120 persons. On Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, the only use of the rooms is for room service club meetings. The address of the Holiday Inn is 5111 South-west Freeway, Rosenberg, Texas 77471. The phone number is 713-342-6671.

Other possible meeting sites would include the Lamar High School Auditorium. The administration buildings are located at 930 E. Stadium Drive, Rosenberg, Texas 77471. The phone number is 713-342-5521. I have not consulted with the administration, and it may be that hearings might be considered too disruptive 1128 103 m ooso 7 I S_ g

The Fort Bend County Fairgrounds also has some large meeting halls which might be available. The County Judge's phone number is 342-2986. You may write him at the Fort Bend County Courthouse, Richmond, Texas 77469.

Finally, I would appreciate your consideration of' holding at least a portion of your meetir:gs at night and/or on Saturday, so that absences from work to attend the hearings may be minimized.

Thank you very much for your attention in this matter.

Sincerely, SVs-Stephen A. Doggett SAD:gh 1128 104
