SEISMIC ANALYSIS FOR AS-BUILT SAFETY RELATED-PIPING SYSTEMS FOR BIG ROCK POINT NUCLEAR PLANT CONSUMERS POWER COMPANY 1.

INTRODUCTION USNRC Bulletin 79-14 dated July 2, 1979, including Revision 1, dated July 18, 1979, requested information be provided within 30 days of July 2, 1979.

The Consumers Power Company (CPCo) response was provided by letter from D. A. Bixel to J. G. Keppler dated August 1, 1979.

Additionally, the bulletin requested results of inspection be provided within 60 days of July 2, 1979.

The CPCo response is contained in the following sections.

STATUS OF INSPECTION An estimated 6,000 feet total of piping is involved in the inspection.

As of August 27, 1979, the following points are noted with respect to status:

  • Nine personnel are devoted at the Big Rock Point site to the effort.

'Approximately 1,800 feet of pipe and about 220 related supports have been inspected.

'The majority of the piping for the Reactor Depressuriza-tion System and the Steam and Condensate System has been inspected.

' Portions of piping have been inspected in each of the remainder of the systems identified in Attachment A of the previous CPCo response (see item 1 above).

RESULTS OF INSPECTION The general results of the inspection completed to date are favorable.

No significant discrepancies have been identified to date.

Minor conditions have been identi-fied and those identified to date will be evaluated and corrected or verification will be made that the existing conditions do not degrade the related system.

The correc-tio:i or verification will be made prior to returning the plant to service.
