Georgia Power Company hereby submits the following information in response to your letter of August 7,1979, which transmitted Bulletin 79-18, " Audibility Problems Encountered on Evacuation of Personnel from High-Noise Areas". The bulletin addressed the audibility of emergency signals used in the evacuation of personnel from high-noise areas.

1. A survey has been performed within accessible high-noise (95dba or greater) areas of Plant Hatch Units 1 and 2. Areas identified as having audibility problema in each unit are listed below. The inaccessible areas will be evaluated during the next scheduled outage of each unit.
a. Condensate and condensate booster pump area.
b. Diesel generator rooms.
c. Northeast and southeast diagonals near RHR pumps.
d. CRD pump areas.
e. HPCI room.
2. Specific corrective action for each of the identified areas has not currently been determined. Appropriate corrective action will be determined and implemented prior to the 120 day requirement specified in the bulletin. It is our belief that the plant emergency procedures are adequate for identification and evacuation of personnel from high-noise areas during the interim.
