SCHEDULE FOR REVIEW OF WCAP-8278, WCAP-8646, AND WCAP-9401 Our letter dated August 23, 1979 informed you of cur schedule for the review of WCAP-9500, " Reference Core Report 17 x 17 Optimized Fuel Assembly." There are three other topical reports that provide bases for the fuel assembly design and that are currently undergoing review in cur Tcpical Report Review Program.
These reports are: WCAP-9401, " Verification Testing and Analyses -- 17 x 17 Optimized Fuel Assembly," WCAP-8278, "Hycraulic Ficw Te;t of the 17 x 17 Fuel Assembly," and WCAP-8646, " Analysis of Fuel Red Fretting Wear." The purpose of this letter is to inform ycu of the schedule for ccmpletion of cur review of these three related reports.
The schedule for review of WCAP-8278, WCAP-8646, and WCAP-9401 is enciosed.
Recent irradiated fuel data from the Trojan fuel examinations submitted i
January 18, 1979 will allow us to ccmplete our review of WCAP-8278. This appears to be a straightforward, but not urgent, matter, and we plan to issue our final evaluation by the end of this year. The review of WCAP-8646, sub-mitted December 17, 1975, has previously been deferred for higher priority werk. We have now scheduled ccmpletion of that review for June 30, 1980. Ne plan to review WCAP-9401 concurrently with WCAP-8646. These review schedules are ccmpatible with completion of the review of WCAP-9500 Ly Decemoer 1,1980.
