In accordance with 1.E.
Bulletin No. 79-09 the district has examined the use of G.E. Type AK-2 circuit breakers in safety related systems.
The AK-2 circuit breakers are used in the Control Rod Drive System and are.a part of the Reactor Protection System.
The safety portion of these circuit breakers is currently being checked by our 1-108 RPS Channel Trip Procedure which requires that one channel be checked per week.
We will initiate a procedure and a maintenance program by Juie 1, 1979 for the type AK-2 circuit breakers.
The maintenance will be performed by qualified personnel at least once each refueling cycle and will include the items covered in I.E. Bulletin No. 79-09.
