Dear Mr. Keppler:
Reference (a) transmitted I.E.
Bulletin 79-03 which requested information concerning the use of certain stainless steel pipe spools manufactured by Youngstown Welding and Engineer-ing Company.
Per Reference (b) Commonwealth Edison Company indicated that unforeseen delays in initiating the fabricator's record review and the complexity of the review required additional time to complete the action of the Bulletin.
In addition, Commonwealth Edison commit-ted to submitting a current status of findings and also a projected completion date by September 7, 1979.
Currently, Commonwealth Edison's fabricator, Southwest Fabricating, has estimated that their record search including a complete list of all spools containing any SA-312 Type 304 Stainless 002 0 OT 2

NRC Docket Nos. 50-454, 50-455 Commonwealth Edison 50-456 and 50-457 Mr. James G. Keppler September 5, 1979 Jceel pipe manufactured by Youngstcwn Welding and Engineering will be completed by late September 1979.
Upon receipt of the fabrica-tor's completed list, Commonwealth Edison will require additional time to review the list to determine whether all pipe or a repre-sentative samp.2 will be volumetrically examined and to prepare a procedure for this examination.
Thus, a complete response to this Bulletin is now anticipated for mid to 1Lue October 1979.
