by the Grand Gulf tiuclear Power Station (located Claiborne County, j

fitssissippi, about 50 miles southwest of Jackson, liississippi) on the night of April 17, 1978. Grand Gulf is a two-unit CNR/6, !! ark III l

plant with steel-lined, concrete containment structures.

Construction of Units 1 and 2 are approximately 60 and 5 percent complete, respectively.

At 10:00 a.m. today, iir. Larry Dale of Itississippi Power and light Ccapany called to advise na that betueen 10 and 11 p.m. local time during the night of April 17, 1978.

The region is presently assessing the situation and will keep us advised.
