SUBJECT:
SUMMARY
OF MEETING HELD ON AUGUST 22, 1979 TO DISCUSS RADIO-LOGICAL EFFLUENT TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS (TS) FOR THE CALVERT CLIFFS UNITS A preliminary meeting was held, August 22, 1979 between the NRC staff and representatives of BG&E to discuss the proposed amendment for Radiological Effluent (Appendix I) TS. Enclosed is a list of the attendees.
BG&E had provided the proposed Appendix I TS on March 15, 1979, and tne offsite dose calculation manual (ODCM) on At. gust 21, 1979. The staff provided cocinents on these submittals at the meeting and outlined the bases for the model Appendix I TS, given in NUREG-0472(Rev.2). Major comments included the need for a specification on the solid radwaste system, projected limits for the use of radwaste equipment, contents of tha Process Control Program (PCP) for solidification, and dual and redundant gas analyzers on the waste gas storage system.
The licensee will review the staff positions and reconnendations on the contents of the ODCM and PCP, and provide a schedule on revising the Appendix I TS by September 1,1979 to complete their submittal by about October 15, 1979.
