.... y Commonwealth Edison Mr. James G. Keppler: August 1, 1979 Also attached is a list of systems for Zion, Dresden, and Quad-CitJ ;s which are planned to be inspected in order to comply with che requirements of Item 2 of this Bulletire.
We are currently in the process of scheduling outages to meet the requirements of Item 3.
It is extremely essential to develop schedules which will minimiza the outage impact for the large number of operating units involved.
Additionally,.the inspection results from the accessible systems will be helpful in determining the schedule for the inspection of inaccessible systems.
This schedule will be submitted during the week of September 3, 1979.
For Byron, 3raidwood, and LaSalle County there are two (2) systems in effect for detecting changes which occur in the field due to interferences, etc.
These are NCRs (Nonconformance Reports) and FCRs (Field Change Requests).
These QA control documents assure that the safety-related piping system drawings are updated.
In addition, an as-built field check of safety-related piping systems will be made prior to fuel load.
This check will then be compared against the formal analysis done for the system to insure that the formal analysis reflects the as-bui?t condition.
The check of the formal analysis will also be done prior to fuel load.
Canmonwealth Edison Company is currently involved in a document search for Dresden Unit 1.
At this time, it is not fully known as to when this search will be completed.
- However, this search, as well as the other requirements of IE Bulletin 79-14, will be met prior to resumption of operations at the end of the current chemical cleaning outage, now scheduled for July, 1980.
Please address any questions you may have concerning this matter to this office.
Very truly yours, cordell R ed Assistant Vice-President cc:
