September 14, 1979 Freedom of Information Office fluclear Regulating Commission FREEDOM OF INFORMATION 691 Park Ave ACT REQUEST King of Prussia, Pa 19406 f C 2 g-7cj. -]cy }

Greetings:

LLC 'C!

'U -77 Under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act., 5 U.S.C. 552, I am requesting access to several Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) publications.

The first is an AEC inspection report 70-903/73-01, Dockett #79-903g The second is AEC Clearing House Volume 17, #50, dated 12/13/71.

If there are any fees imposed for searching or copying the materials I have requested, please inform me. before filling out the request.

Please note I am seeking this information as a staff member of a non-profit organization with over 150,000 concnrned citizen supporters in flew York State.

The records are essential for comprehensive scientific investi-gation we are conducting to determine the extent of radioactive contamination at a site in New York State, and the potential hazard that the radioactivity presents to local residents of the area.

As you know, the Freedom of Information Act specifically permits you to reduce or waive fees when the release of the information is considered as "primarily benefitting the public."

I believe without a doubt that this request falls into that category.

Please, therefore, waive all fees associated with this request.

I would appreciate your handling this request as quickly as possible.

However, if you do not grant it within 10 working days, as the law stipu-lates, I will deem it denied.

Yours sincerely,

.[ ' '
