ANSWER OF NRC STAFF TO AMENDED PETITION OF BRIDGET LITTLE ROREM, ET AL.
The petitioners herein have submitted an amended petition for leave to intervene in accordance with the order of this Board, dated March 22, 1979. Since that date the Staff, Applicant and petitioners have met on several occasions to negotiate contentions which would be relevant to the Braidwood proceeding. The contentions as s'ubmitted by the petitioners on August 7, 1979 are in accordance with the contentions agreed to by the negotiating parties. The Staff therefore agrees that these contentions should be admitted as issues in controversy in the Braidwood proceeding.
With respect to petitioners request that Appleseed,an organization in the Braidwood area, be substituted in the place of Bailly Alliance-Illinois, it is stated by petitioners that all its members live within 25 miles of the Braidwood area and the licensing action will affect the health and safety of Appleseed members. The Staff does not object to the substitution of Appleseed for the Bailly Alliance-Illinois.
Respectfully submitted, N.'614 A< m y
