Dear Mr. Seyfrit:
River Bend Station, Units 1 and 2 Docket Nos. 50 h58 and 50 h59 In a telephone conversation with your staff on June 12, 1979, Gulf States Utilities identified a Report-able Deficiency as defined by 10CFR 50.55(e) with regard to the Quality Assurance and manufacturing of containme'nt "T" velds nanufactured by Graver Energy Systems in Chicago.
Attached to this letter is an interim written report sun-tarizing the activities with regard to this deficiency to date as per 10CFR 50.55(e)(3). An update report will be provided in 60 days.
