4 RESOLUTICN OF THE i

80ARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF MARIN URGING CLOSURE OF NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS IN CALIFORNIA UNTIL THEIR SAFETY IS ESTABLISHED WHEREAS this Board of Supervisors is gravely concerned over the hazard to human life engendered by the risk of Nuclear Power Plant malfunctioning as evidenced by the recent events in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; and WHEREAS, this Board believes that the safety of existing and proposed nuclear power plants has not been definitively established; e

NOW, THEREFORE, SE IT RESOLVED that, on behalf of the citizens of the County of Marin, this Board of Supervisors urges that all nuclear power i

plants in California be shut down or remain closed untT1 such time as the safety of these plants has been conclusively established.

BE iT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of this Board is directed.to forward copies of the within Resolution to President Carter, Governor Brown, our representatives in Washington and Sacramento, the Sacramento Municipal Utility Di strict, and the federal Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
