This letter is to acknowledge receipt of the affidavits of Mr. Carl E. Turner and Mr. Gary Hutsell, recently sent to tne attention of Investigation Specialist James E. Foster.
The comments contained in Item 4 of Mr. Turner's affi!avit rela-tive to the job functions of Public Service Indiane ' PSI) Quality Assurance personnel are correct. They do not observe entire concrete pours, and there is no NRC regulatory requirement to do so.
First-line inspection is performed by contractor personnel. We note that Mr. Turner's comments in Items 7, 8 and 9 are not specific alle-gations regarding the Marble Hill site. We understand that Mr. Turner was never employed at the Marble Hill site. Therefore, these com-ments do not appear relevant to construction deficiencies at >brble Hill.
Mr. Hutsell's af fidavit appears to represent problems we were aware of from the results of our recent investigation and inspection effort, or are non-safety related deficiencies.
