Sjogren TELEPHONE (617) 366-9011 X2281 REPORT MONTH August 1979 SUMLARY OF OPERATING EXPERIENCES At the beginning of the month the plant was operating at s97% reactor power limited by the 864 MRe maximum load permitted on the lower pres-sure turbine blading.

On August 4 a load reduction to 76% was performed to allow surveillance testing of the turbine valves. Power was back at full load the follow-ing day.

Load was reduced to %76% on 5 additional occasions during the remainder of the month to locate and plug leaking condenser tubes.

3 leaking tubes were located and plugged.

At the end of the month the plant was at 75% attempting to locate a possible condenser tube leak.

Commencing at 0001 on September 1, 1979, a load reduction from 75% was initiated bringing the plant of f line for the scheduled 4-week outage to perform feedwater line inspections required by IE Bulletin No. 79-13 and also to perform scheduled maintenance.
