RESP 0ilSES TO SE:lATCR HART'S 53 QUESTIONS RELATI::G TO THREE MILE ISLAND We have reviewed answers to the questions for which the answers had been prepared by IE. With the exception of questions 3, 35 and 49, we concur with the package.
In the third paragraph of the answer to question #3, the sentence beginning "In addition " should be deleted as snould the sentence which follows.
To replace those two sentences the fcilowing should be inserted?
"To facilitate tne requested improvcnents, we have had direct and dedicated telephones installed in the CCntrol RCCO, recctor supervisor's office and other locations at all operating nuclear power plants. These telephones will automatically ring at the NRC Headcuarters Operaticns Center when the receiver is lif ted off the telephone cradle. This system becane operational on June 1, 1979."
In -he first paragraph of the answer to questien 35 the next to last sentence shoald be changed to read "iPC has already had ATIT install dedicated 'ines to all operating nuclear power plants."
In the last paragraph of the answer to question 49 the last sentence should be changed ';o read "In addition, direct and dedicated telephcne Idees have been instalDed in all operating nuclear pcwer plants.
Extensions of these lines are located in the Control Rcom, reactor supervisor's office and other locations.
These telephones automatically ring at the NRC Operations Center when the receiveris lifted off the telephone cradle."
In a separate matter, I discussed directly with Beth Hayden the need for close coorcination of the answers to question #6 for Senator Hart and Question 2(c) fraa Senator Glenn. Discussions with ELD indicate that they will provide com-ments on question 6 for Senator Hart.
