79/11 As Defined in 10 CFR 50.55(c)
AECM-79/87 On July 9,1979, Mississippi Power & Light Company notifled Mr. J. h.
Rausch of your of fice of a potentially reportable deficiency at the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station construction site.
The deficiency concerns a problem with cracked cent.ol device assemblies on 4.16 KV Switchgear, 6.9 KV Switch-gear and 480 Volt Load Centers, provide.d by Gould-Switchgear Division.
To date, the inspection of breakers associated with 6.9 KV Switchgear, 4.16 KV Switchgear, and 480 Volt Load Centers identified the following quantities of cracked control devices:

- No t Inspected The degree of cracking did not appear to correlate with the frequency of operating the devices.
This deficiency is currently under investigation to determine reporta-bility within the conditions of 10 CFR 50.55(e) and corrective action. The decision on reportability will be provided to you no later than Nove.aber 30, 1979.
