NUCLEAR ENGINEERIt!G BEATTY, NEVADA RECEIPT OF LEAKIrlG CONTAINERS Enclosed is the report of an inspection conducted at Beatty, Nevada subsequent to the receipt of leaking containeer af radioactive vaste at that low level disposal facility. The material was sampled, and analysis is being conducted at the DOE Health Services Laboratory in Idaho Falls, Idaho. When final resuics are available they will be included in an addendum to this report.
Region V is not taking any enforcement action on the information included in this report.
However, a copy is being transmitted to our Region III office for their review.
They may take some action against the shipper of the waste in question. We also understand that DOT plans to take enforcement action against the shipper.
