Dear Mr. Keppler:
Attached, as requested in Item 1 of IE Bulletin 79-14, are lists of design d: cuments which include the title, identification number, re Laion and date which were sources of input information for the seismic analysis for Dresden Units 2 & 3, Quad-Cities Units 1 & 2, and Zion Units 1 & 2.
Typical seismic analysis input information is contained on composite drawings.
These drawings show pipe routing, terminal ends of piping, branch connections, valves, and fittings.
Additional lists of hanger drawings will be sub-mitted for Dresden Units 2 & 3 and Quad-Cities Units 1 & 2 by August 17, 1979.
Hanger drawing lists for Zion Units 1 & 2 include some subsystems which have both seismic and non-seismic related piping.
These lists are currently being revised to delete the non-seismic hangers, and the revised lists will also be submitted by August 17, 1979.

Commonwealth Edison Mr. James G. Keppler: August 1, 1979 Also attached is a list of systems for Zion, Dresden, and Quad-Cities which are planned to be inspected in order to comply with the requirements of Item 2 of this Bulletin; We are currently in the process of scheduling outages to meet the requirements of Item 3.
It is extremely essential to develop schedules which will minimize the outage Dnpact for the large number of operating units involved.
Edditionally, the inspection results from the accessible systems will be helpful in determining the schedule for the inspection of inaccessible systems.
This schedule will be submitted during the week of September 3, 1979.
For Byron, Braidwood, and Lajalle County there are two (2) systems in effect for detecting changes which occur in the field due to interferences, etc.
These are NCRs (Nonconformance Reports) and FCRs (Field Change Requests).
These QA control documents assure that the safety-related piping system drawings are updated.
In addition, an as-built field check of safety-related piping systems will be made prior to fuel load.
This chec). will then be compared against the formal analysis done for the system to insure that the formal analysis reflects the as-built condition.
The check of the formal analysis will also be done prior to fuel load.
Commonwealth Edison Campany is currently involved in a document search for Dresden Unit 1.
At this time, it is not fully known as to when thic search will be completed.
- However, this search, as well as the other requirements of IE Bulletin 79-14, will be met prior te resumption of operations at the end of the current chemical cleaning cutage, now scheduled for July, 1980.
Please address any questions you may have concerning this matter to this office.
Very truly yours, Cordell R'ed Assistant Vice-President cc:
