The following refueling information is included in the Hont hly Report as requested in a letter to !!r. G. C. Andonnini datid January 18, 1978.

For your convenience, the inforraation supplied h.u been enumerated so t hat each number corresponds to equivalent notation utilized in the request.

1. The name of thic facility is pilgrim !!uclear Power Station, Docket !!o . 50-293.
2. Scheduled date for next Refueling Shutdeun: January 1980.
3. Scheduled date for restart follc, wing refuel ing: April 1980.

5. Due to their ninflarity, r equ e s t 4, 5 6 6 are responded to collectively.

The fuel, which is presently expected to he loaded during the next scheduled shutdown, nay he reloaded fuel of a new design and may t herefore require a proposed license submittal and technical <.pecification change. It D not possible, however, to t.uppl: pertinent information on dates. As inf or:n t ion concerning fuel denign, core confip,uration, Op e ra t. i o n a l heview Cox.ittee deteroinations, proposed licensing action, and technical specification submittals become available, it will he forwarded to you.
7. (a) There are 580 fuel assemblies in the core.

(h) There are 580 fuel assemblics in the spent fuel pool.

8. (a) The station is presently licem ed to store 2320 spent fuel assemblies.

The actual spent fur 1 storage capacity is 1170 fuel assemblies and new high density fuel st orage racks are in the process of being installed.

(h) The planned spent fuel storage capacity is 2320 fuel assemblies.

9. With present spent fuel in storage, the spent fuel pool now has the capacit.y to acconmodate an additional 580 fuel assemblics (one core).

Sunmary of Opera _tions for Ju1L 1979 Unit operated at 100% power unt il Juiy 8 when power was reduced for a condenser backwaeb. Uhile the unit van at re6'oced power tining of the 11SIV's was con-ducted and "D" tiSIV failed to meet an acceptahic time as per Technical Spec i f i ca t ionn . A decision wan made to take the unit off the line, de-inert the drywel1 and rejair the !;SlV. The iepair tutned out to be a leaking bvdraulic i'ne. a The unit van returned to nervice at 0915 on July 9 and w :ile pour wiu, being increa:;ed, 1-3 water box fouled and a leak was discovered in the CRD reiurn line. A decinion van nade on July 11 to renove tie unit Iron nervice and repair the CR0 return line. The unit van renoved f r on seuj re at 1132 1.rn, on .luly 11 and repairr were initiated. The repair: were cospleted and the t.n f t- was returned to nervice at 2110 on July 17. The 1-3 water box remained fouled and a reduct ion was set. to clean the water boxen and the intake piping. During the reduction a nerar. wts experienced f r:m low vacuum at 1313 on .luly 21. The unit was returned to service at 0035 on July 22.

A reactor scran was experitoced at 0101 on July 27 dee in Int.S of ff-tit. power caused by a lightning strike. "A" and "D" Relief Valve m1ftactienee and had o be rep]Leed. The unit was brought back on line or 142* <: My 30 and ob t ained 100% eut put at. 2230 hourt on July 31.
