Mr. Denton has asked that I respond to your letter of April 24, 1979 to him.

He war.ced me to express to you his appreciation for your kind remarks about his frankness in cormonication with the public during the Three-Mile. Island accident.

Your letter asks Mr. Dentnn to intercede in a matter of x-ray technician training. The Nuclear Regulatory Comission has no regulatory authority ever x-ray machines, their use, or the training of x-ray technicians.

I Those matters are the responsibility of State government, not the Federal Government.
