Quality Group B.

Mcwever, the sucticn line to the decay neat renoval cur:s is classified Cuality Groua C fr:m the S'..ST to valves CH-75A/3.

This line shcuic be Cuali / 3rcus 3 in its entirecy, and ne Three P.ile Islanc '; nit 2 (TMI-2) acplied code should be nNSI B31.7, Class II.

/

21.2 In Table 3.2-1, several lines connected to the bcrated water (3.2.2) storage tank and tne sodium hycroxide s:crage tank are classified N-3.

Since these tanks are classified N-2, all lines connected to the tanks belcw the ncemai luid level should be classifiec N-2 cut to and including :ne first ncrmally closed isclation valve or a valve :apable of autcmatic closure.

21.3 In Table 3.2-1, the line from the sedium hydroxide storage tank (3.2.2) to valves DH-V134A/B is classified as Quality Grouc C.

This line should be Quality 3rcup B and the TMI-2 apolied ccde should be ANSI B31.7, Class II.

21.4 In Table 3.2-1, the diesel generator fuel oil system and ali (3.2.2) of the diesel generator auxiliary system: should be classified Quality Group C.

21.5 In Table 3.2-2, you state that auxiliary piping essential for a (3.2.2) safe shutdcwn is classified as Quality Group D.

inis is inconsistent with the classificaticn you have assigned essential systems in Table 3.2-1 and on the system Ccw diagrams.

Quality Group D is not acclicable to systems essential to a safe shutdcwn.

Revise Table 3.2-2 accordingly.

21.6 In Table 3.2-1, the reacter buildinc cenetraticns of the reactor (3.2.2) building emergency ccoling water system and the intermediate closed cooling water systen are incorrectly classified as Quality Grcup C.

This pcrtien of these systems sncula be classified Quality Group B and the Eil-2 applied ccde should be in accordance with note 2 of Table 3.2-1.

21.7 In Table 3.2-1, the spent fuel pcol pumos, the berated water (3.2.2) recirculation puros and the scent fuel ccolers are incorrectly classified as Quality Group D.

This ecuipment should be classified Quality Group C.

21-2 21.8 In Table 3.2-1, the condensate s:crage tanks are classifisc (3.2.2)

Quality Group C and the TMI-2 acpiiec ccce is AS?'E Section III, Class C.

Since the scope of tne 1963 edition cf ASME Section III does not include etncscheric tanks, describe hcw jeu intend to apply tais code to tne concensate s:crage tanks. Accectable stancarc: for tne constructicn of tnese tanks are API-650, AbWA-OlCO cr ANSI E96.1 with the follcwing ncn-destructive test requirements for tank welds:

1ddition to the requirements of ANSI E31.1.0 and the design features indicated in the notes to Table 3.2-1, all welcs in Quality Grcuo C ciping larger than 4 incnes shall be exanined by either tne magnetic ; article or liquid penetrant method in accordance..ith ANSI B31.7, Clas; III.

21.10 In Table 3.2-1, you incorrectly state that the decay heat closed (3.2.2) cooling water system coolers, pumps, surge tanks, piping, anc valves will be constructed in accorcance witn ANSI B31.1.0.

This equipment should be constructed in accordance with ASME Secticn VIII, ANSI B31.7, or the Craft ASME Ccde for Pumps and Vaives, as applicable.

21.11 In Table 3.2-1, you indicate that the borated water storage tanks (3.2.2) will be constructed in accordance with AhWA-DlCC-67.

In additien, non-destructive testing should be ;erformed on tne SWST welds in accordance with the follcwing:

Sidewalls 1005 Radiographic Roof Visual Roof to Sidewall Visual Bottom Vacuum Box Bottom to Sidewall Vacuum Ecx and.iagnetic Particle or Liauid Penetrant Nozzles Magnetic Particle or Liquid Penetrant 21.12 In Table 3.2-1, for ecuicment which is to be ccnstructed in (3.2.2) accorcance witn ANSI 531.7 or the Draf t ASME Ccce for ?unts and Valves, indicate tne ccde class where ycu have not alreacy dcne sc.

21.14 In Table 3.2-1, valves MU-VS and 79 of the Makeuo and Purifica:icn (3.2.2) system are incorrectly classifiec as Craft AS"E Ccce far Pum:s and Valves, Class III.

These v.alves shcula be Clcss II of the Draft ASME Code.

Pl.15 In Table 3.2-1, you indicate that the piping frcm the sccium (3.2.2) thicsulfate tanks to valves SS-V4A/S is classified Cuality Grcup C.

This portion of the sys am snculd be Cuality Grouc 3 and tne Dil-2 applied coce snould be in accordance with note 2 of Tabl e 3. 2-l'.

21.1 6 In Table 3.2-1, you indicate that the pioing frcn valves (3.2.2)

BS-V105A/3 to the reactor building spray header no les is classified Quality Group C.

This portion of the system shculd be Quality Group B and the TMI-2 apolied code should be in accordance with note 2 of Table 3.2-1.

21.1 7 Figure 6.3-1 does not provide adecuate informaticn to relate the data in Table 3.2-1.

Revise Figure 6.3-1 to indicate
