Dear Mr. Gross :
On November 29, 1971, the AEC issued a Dater =ination to Suspend Certain Ccnstruction Activities at the Bree Mila Island Nuclear Generating Station Units 1 and 2, currently under ccustruction by the Metropolitan Edison Con:pany and Jersey Central Power and Light Cec:p any.
Upon censideration of the Coc:panies's ensvar to the Cocusission's Order to Shcw Cause, it has been deternina. that cause has been shown for reconsideration and withdrawal of the order to shcw cause only to the extent.it applies to electric power transnissico lines other than the Juniata line.
Upon consideratico of the licensees ' answer to the Order to Show Cause, it has been determined that the Director of Regulaticn's Determination should be nodified so as to provide for the suspension of construction activities involving the offsite portion of only the Juniata transmission line for the 3ree Mile Island Nuclear Generating Station, Unit 2, pending completien of the NEPA Environnental Review relating to these matters. Le Director of Ragulation has served en the licensens an order suspending such ccxistructica activities.
