The Atenic Energy Co mission has received a report fren its Advisory Committee on Raactor Saf aguards concerning the second nuclear po'.zer plant propcsed for the Threc.':ile Island Nuclear Station in Londonderry Tc inship, Dauphin County, Penn-sylvania.
Unit 2 would be cwnad jointly by.:2tropolitan Edison Cc=pany and Jerse.v Central Power & L:.r~ht Company.
The proposed Three Mile Island 'iuclear Station Unit 2 will use a pressurized uctor reactor and w'11 have an initial capacity of about 810,000 not electrical r:ilcwants and an ulti-mata capacity of about 920,000 kilcuatts.
The second unit woulc.' be adjacent to : etropolitan Edison's Unit 1 now under construction on Three File Island near the east shore of the Susquehanna River above York Haven Dan, about 10 miles south-east of Harrisburg.
As proposed, :'etropolitan Edison will be responsibla for the design, construction and cperation of the plant.
Aid in the design and construction of the facility will be supplied by Burns & Rcc Inc., Gilbert Associates Inc., Babccc:: & '.'ilec::
Ccapany Inc., and United Engineers and Constructors.
The nu-clear staan supply system will be supplied by Babecc:-: & Milec::.
A public hearing to consider the applicaticn will be con-ducted scen in tha vicinity of the proposed pcwar plant.
