Dear Mr. Dillman:
Josepn Scinto This is to confirm a conversation which Mr Richard Black of my oliice had today with Mr. Thomas Tager of your office. In that conversation, Mr. Black briefly discussed the need for expert testimony and docuinentary evidence regarding aircraft cperations at the Harrisburg International Airpo t which is located a few miles north of the Three Mile Island nuclear power plant rite.
To complete the NRC Staff's evidentiary presentation before the Atomic Safety and Licensing Ap7eal Etned, we thmk it is essential to have FAA witnesses present testimony addressing the matters set out in the attachment to this lette..
The hearing schedule currently establishes November 17, 1978 as the deadline for the filing of testimony. Although this schedule should allow sufficient time for any FAA testimony, please let me know as soon as possible if further time is needed. In addition, we would like to know the names and positions of those FAA personnel who may be involved in this effort because we would like to be informed of any information that they will be presenting and we would like to coordinate our efforts with theirs.
Thank you for your assistance in this matter. If you have any immediate questions either give Richard Black or Larry Chandler a call at 492-7836.
This office will be contacting you in the next several days to discuss the details of cheduling, identification of witnesses and preparation of testimony.
Sincerely.
Stuart A. Treby Assistant Chief Hearing Counsel
