AND METRCPCLITAN EDI3CN CCMPANY NCTICE CF RECEIPT OF APPLICATICN WJR CONSTRUCTION FER.t"" AND FACILITY LICE'ISE In an application dated April 22, 1968, Jersey Central Power & Light Company, Madison Avenue at Punch Bowl Road, Morristown, New Jersey 07960, filed an application for authorization to construct and operate a pressurized water nuclear reactor, designated as the Oyster Creek Nuclear Station Unit 2, on the applicant's site in Lacey T]wnship, Ocean County, New Jersey. A notice of re-ceipt of the application was published in the FEDERAL REGISTER on June 19, 1963, 33 F.R. 9038.

Box,%2, Reading, Pennsylvania 19603, the applicants have requested au-thorization, pursuant to Section 104(b) of the Atemic Energy Act cf 1954, as amended, to construct and operate the previously designated Oys.er Creek Nuclear Station Unit 2 at the Three Mile Island Nuclear Station in Londonderry Tcwnship, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. The proposed cactor has been redesignated as the Tc.ree Mile Island Nuclear Station Unit 2, and will be located adjacent to and just scath of the Three Mile Island Nuclear Station Unit 1 now being con-structed by Metropolitan Edison Company.

The applicants will share equally in ownership of the Three Mile Island Nvelear Generating Station Unit 2, and Metropolitan Edison Company will have complete responsibility for operation of the facility, Unit 2 is des:.gned 7004180 3 3o 4W

for initial operation at approximately 2f+52 ther:al megawatts with a net electrical cutput of approximately 810 cegawatts.
