FW: Questions on the Operation of the L31-E Canal From: Burton, William Sent: Wednesday, June 26, 2019 3:25 PM To: 'Orthen, Richard' Cc: Ford, William

Subject:

Questions on the Operation of the L31-E Canal Hi Rick, One of our groundwater reviewers, Bill ford, had the following questions on the operation of the L31-E canal.

Please take a look and let me know if youd be available for a call tomorrow afternoon.

Thanks, Butch
1. Our understanding is that west of the CCS, the water in the L31E canals flows south to be used by lands farther south. We would like to know how surface water north of SW 344th St enters the L31E canal?
2. At that location are there underwater structures that allow water to move southward into the L13E canal?
3. Alternatively, does the L31E canal dead end south of SW 344th St, making the L31E canal west of the site a dead-end canal?
4. If it is a dead-end canal, how does water get to the sections of the L31E canal farther south?
