NUSCALE POWER, LLC, ADVANCE SAFETY EVALUATION REPORT FOR LICENSING TOPICAL REPORT: TR-0716-50351, REVISION 0, NUSCALE APPLICABILITY OF AREVA METHOD FOR THE EVALUATION OF FUEL ASSEMBLY STRUCTURAL RESPONSE TO EXTERNALLY APPLIED FORCES By letter dated September 30, 2016 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML16274A469), NuScale Power, LLC (NuScale), submitted Topical Report (TR)-0716-50351, NuScale Applicability of AREVA Method for the Evaluation of Fuel Assembly Structural Response to Externally Applied Forces, Revision 0, to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff for review and approval in support of the application for the design certification of NuScales small modular reactor.
Based on its review of NuScales TR, the NRC staff prepared an advanced Topical Report Safety Evaluation (TRSE) (ADAMS Accession No. ML19177A283). The TRSE ADAMS accession number is being provided to support a meeting of the subcommittee of the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards (ACRS) on August 20, 2019.
The NRC staff requests that the ACRS withhold the proprietary version of the TRSE from public disclosure.
