The llonorable Joseph M.
Hendrie Chairman M
NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION 1717 H Street, N.W.
Washington, D.C.
20555
Dear Mr. Chairman:
In light of the recent events at the Three Mile Island Nuclear plant in Harrisburg, I have received several inquiries from my constituents who are con-cerned about the construction of a similar plant in Limerick, Pennsylvania.
My questions are as follows:
e What effect will the Three Mile Island incident have on nuclear plants presently under con-struction, in particular the one at Limerick?
Will the design of the Limerick plant be e
, evaluated and/or modified?
Will the Commission be establishing new e
safety criteria for plants presently under construc-tion; and, if so, what changes do you contemplate?
I would appreciate a reply as soon a.s possible to these very important questions, so that I may adequately respond to the inquiries of my constituents.
Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.
