h 7hc Environnent, Energy and Natural Ibscurces Stbconmittee of the House Cmmittee on Governnent Operations, pursuant to its general oversight and investigativa r+hnrity under clauses 2 and 4 of Rule X and clause 1 of Rule XI of the House at Representatives, respectfully requests that you provide it with wrbatim transcripts: of all closed nueti.ngs of the Nuclear Regulatory Cccmission at thich the Tnree Mile Island incident has been discussed, including but not limited to the transcripts of the reeting which took placa on or cbout Saturday, March 31, 1979, at which the decision was nude to close this series of reetings. I understand that the Ccaission's General Counsel has advised nry Subcommittee Counsel that soce of this raterial has not yet been transcribed from tape recordings made at the reetings. Ehile the Subccanittee at this tine is requesting caly the "hard" (typed) twinscripts, and not the tapes, please consider this a continuimg request for the typed transcription of each tape as it becores available.
As to those typed transcripts which nc7.7 exist, the Subecmittee would 9
appreciate reo2iving them by c.o.b. Ibnday, April 9,1979, in the Subu.suittee offices at B-371-B Rayburn House Office Building.'
This regmst is properly within the jurisdiction of the Cocmittee on Governnent Operations, as granted it by Rule X of the House of Representatives, and of this Subconmittee, as delegated to it by Rule 8 of the Rules of the Ccnmittee on Government Operations and by the actions taken by the Committee on Covernment Operations at its organizational reeting for the Nimty-Sixth Congress on February 1,1979.
