Dear Sir:
Three Mile Island Nuclear Station, Unit 2 (TMI-2) Operating License No. DPR-73 Docket No. 50-320 Startup Report Section 6.9.1.3 of the TMI-2 Technical Specifications requires that a startup report be submitted within nine months following initial criticality. Initial criticality for TMI-2 occurred on March 28, 1978. Therefore, on December 28, 1978, we submitted a Start up Report for TMI-2. However, that report did not include all the information associated with initial criticality, completion of the startup test program and commencement of commercial operation (commencement of commercial operation for TMI-2 did not occur until December 30, 1978). Therefore, in accord-ance with the requirement of Section 6.9.1.3, enclosed please find a supplementary Startup Report. This supplementary report includes results from the following tests: 5.1 Biological Shield Survey 5.3 Incore Detector Testing 5.4 Power Imbalance Detector Correlation Test 5.5 Rod Worth at Power 5.6 Reactivity Coefficients at Power 5.11 Reactivity Depletion vs. Burnup In accordance with the requirements of Section 6.9.1.3 of the TMI-2 Technical Specifications, a final Supplementary Startup Report will be submitted within 90 days.
